About

Beauty runs on taste. Inventory runs on arithmetic.

Vhue Labs exists because those two facts are both true and almost never reconciled in the same room, in time for either to be useful.

A colour trend is legible weeks before it peaks. So is the contents of a warehouse. What has never existed is the join: a single figure saying that the shade turning on social sits ΔE2000 0.9 from something already sitting on a pallet, and that acting on it is worth a specific number of dollars against not acting.

Every part of that sentence has to be defensible or none of it is worth saying. So colour is measured, not described. Distance is CIEDE2000, not a similarity score nobody can reproduce. Money is held in decimal cents, never floating point. And a projection carries the inputs that produced it, frozen, so it can be argued with six weeks after the meeting it was shown in.

The discipline runs the other way too. The engine will not model a shade whose economics are inverted, it reports markdown exposure as a negative number rather than dressing a decline as an opportunity, and where data is thin it says so instead of interpolating something confident. A tool that only ever agrees with you is not intelligence, it is decoration.

What we hold to

Measured, not described

Hex, RGB, CIELAB, ΔE2000. If a claim cannot be expressed as a number with a method behind it, it does not go on the screen.

Auditable after the fact

Every figure keeps its inputs and the engine version that produced it. Reproducibility is the difference between analysis and assertion.

Honest when it is thin

Empty states say what would appear and why it has not. A confident number over sparse data is the most expensive kind of wrong.

Where we are

In development, and taking a first cohort.

The platform is being built with a small number of brands rather than at them. If your range is large enough to have this problem and small enough that someone senior still knows every SKU, that is the cohort.
